North Chilton all-star team wins state

State champs: The state champion North Chilton 11-and-under all-star baseball team includes A.J. Jackson, Mondez Jones, D’Vontae Williams, Keyuntay Kine, Kory Albert, Mason Dennis, Chase Birchfield,Peyton Carroll, Jacob Anderson, Brent Schoener, Hunter Lowery Blake Smith and coaches Brian Jackson, Lenard Rogers and Lee Lowery.
Local all-star baseball and softball teams are in the heat of the tournament season.
Several local teams from the North Chilton league are participating in state tournaments, most of which begin on a Thursday or Friday and last through the weekend.

North Chilton baseball
•The 11-and-under team won the state championship in their respective division and will be headed to Southaven, Miss. to play in the 2012 Dizzy Dean World Series.
•The 12-year-old team is currently playing in the state tournament in Albertville.
•The 14-year-old team has qualified for the World Series, starting July 14 in Southhaven, Miss.
North Chilton softball
•The 6-and-under team finished fourth in the state tournament at Liberty Park.
•The 14-and-under team finished third in their appearance at the state tournament.
