Donna Gail Smith, 59, of Shelby died Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

She was born on Friday, Nov. 7, 1952, in Alabama, daughter of the late Floyd Smitherman and the late Lois Brown Smitherman.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her son, Dash (Misty) Smith of Shelby; two daughters, Dana Smith (Butch) (Jeff Gothard) of Shelby and Christy Pate of Jemison; four sisters, Ann (Mike) Logan of Shelby, Linda Carol Shirley, Vicky Fox and Gracie Taylor; grandchildren, Katie Gothard, Janna and Carley Pate, and Marisa Jones; brother, Jeff Smitherman; nieces and nephews, Jason, Wade and Jennifer Logan, Summer Miller, Chance Shirley, Shannon Smitherman, Jay, Melodie and Lynn Stowe; and sister-in-Law, Deloris Stowe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Michael Smith.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 30 at 2 p.m. at Mars Hill Baptist Cemetery.
