The streets of downtown Clanton won’t be silent this summer—in fact, they likely will be just the opposite.

Strings and Things Music Company and the C.C. Cruisers are partnering to hold a free music festival and car show the second Saturday of each month starting May 12 on the square.

“We just decided to step outside the retail market and do some stuff for people in the county,” said Randy Glasscock, owner of Strings and Things. “Just to give the people of the community and the county a break, and just have a good afternoon.”

Music will start at noon, with acts in various genres – gospel, rock and roll, country and bluegrass.

Along with vintage automobiles, local vendors will line the streets selling food and other items.

Anyone interested in being a vendor can contact Randy Glasscock at (205) 755-7500 or (205) 965-9761. It is free to be a vendor.

All festival attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. The festivals are expected to last until about 9 p.m.
