Peach pageant registration will be May 6

Registration for the 2012 Chilton County Peach Pageant will be Sunday, May 6 at 1:30 p.m. at Clanton First United Methodist Church.

Applicants should bring their completed application, a copy of their birth certificate, photographs and $75 entry fee to registration.

“They need to bring four wallet-size pictures, headshots only,” Peach Festival chairman Wayne Caton said. “Cut them and write their contestant name and their sponsor’s name on the back of each picture.”

Applicants entering the Miss Photogenic contest must pay an additional $25 fee and provide a 5-by-7 photograph.

Application forms are available at The Clanton Advertiser, Bar-D Western Store, Brenda’s Formal Wear and The Chilton County News.

Pageant sponsors wishing to buy an advertisement in the Peach Pageant program should contact Wayne Caton at (205) 755-3212.

A pre-pageant orientation for all contestants will be announced at a later date.

All age divisions will compete at Chilton County High School.

The Little Miss Peach Pageant will be Saturday, June 23. Young Miss Peach will be Monday, June 25. Junior Miss Peach will be Tuesday, June 26. Miss Peach will be Thursday, June 28.

Miss Peach will receive a $2,000 tuition scholarship. Her first alternate will receive a $1,000 tuition scholarship. Her second, third and fourth alternates, swimsuit winner and Miss Congeniality will receive gifts from local businesses.

Junior Miss Peach will receive a $1,000 savings bond. Her first alternate will receive a $600 savings bond. Her second, third and fourth alternates, casual wear winner and Miss Congeniality will receive gifts from local businesses.

Young Miss Peach and Little Miss Peach winners will receive the same savings bonds and gifts as the Junior Miss Peach winners, respectively.

“We would just encourage everyone to participate,” Caton said. “We promise this to be a fun time, with parties and special events planned that everyone will be able to participate in before the actual pageant.”
