Two winners from Season 11 of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” will be at Chilton Medical Center’s Spring Fling-Health Fair and Antique Car Show on May 12.
“We are so excited to have them come and share their weight loss journey with us and help motivate our community, not only to lose weight, but help us with weight loss maintenance,” said Anne Taddicken of CMC. “I really want to help make a difference for the community and the hospital.”
At 35 years old, Olivia Ward was 261 pounds when she went on The Biggest Loser. She had been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and told she would likely never have children if she didn’t lose weight.
Ward lost 129 pounds during her 22 weeks on the Biggest Loser Ranch.
Hannah Curlee, Ward’s sister and runner-up on the show, was 32 years old and weighed 248 pounds at the start of The Biggest Loser. She lost 120 pounds in her 22 weeks on the ranch.
The second annual Spring Fling will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at CMC and will include health screenings, arts and crafts, food, children’s activities, the Fox 6 Weather Tracker and more.
U.S. Congressman Spencer Bachus, Sen. Cam Ward and Rep. Kurt Wallace will also visit.
In addition, Tommy Glasscock and LeCroy Career Technical Center are partnering with CMC for the first time to hold an antique car show at the event.
“LeCroy has been really great in joining forces with us,” Taddicken said. “I think it will bring in a larger crowd. The community has just been very supportive.”
