This year’s lineup for Chilton County’s largest outdoor Christian music festival is complete.

The 16th annual En Fuego event will feature musical acts Red, Sanctus Real, Kari Jobe, The Afters, KJ-52, Remedy Drive, Nine Lashes, illusionist Curt Anderson and two speakers, Scott Dawson and Ergun Caner.

“We have more bands this year,” co-founder Johnny Giles said. “We’re really excited about our lineup. We have two well-known speakers that are going to be speaking this year.”

The festival will take place Aug. 25 at its usual location, a spacious horse farm in Verbena.

“Over the last several years, it’s been pretty stable as far as the crowd,” Giles said. “As long as we get pretty weather, we get a good crowd.”

En Fuego is one of the only music festivals of its caliber that charges nothing for admission.

“It makes it really nice for all your smaller churches that don’t have a big youth budget,” Giles said.

Since 1997, students and people of all ages and backgrounds have converged at the hillside for music, messages, prayers and worship.
