Billy Wayne Davenport

Billy Wayne “Bogger” Davenport, 54, of Clanton, passed away April 9, 2012, at his residence. He was born Sept. 16, 1957, in Burbank, Ill., the son of the late Thomas Clyde Davenport and the late Willar Jean Davenport.

Mr. Davenport was a residential construction contractor.

He is survived by: son, Allen Davenport of Clanton; daughter, Nina (Scottie) Coggins of Maplesville; daughter, Kayla (Steven) Jones of Verbena; daughter, Kelsie (Brandon) Morrison of Verbena; five grandchildren; sister, Pam (Loren) Simmons of Clanton; sister, Ruby (Milton) Varden of Clanton; brother, Roger (Karma) Davenport of Verbena; and a host of nieces and nephews.

His parents, along with brothers, Tommy and Eddie Davenport, and nephews, Jerry and Terry Mims, precede him in death.

Visitation was Wednesday, April 11 after 5 p.m. at his residence in Clanton.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 12 at 11 a.m. from Mt. Carmel Baptist Church No. 1 with the Rev. Loren Simmons and the Rev. Randall Edwards officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Baptist No. 1 Cemetery in Thorsby.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers to make donations toward funeral expenses.
