Cypress Moon Productions is looking for more cast and crew members for a feature film called “The Story of Bonnie and Clyde,” certain scenes of which are expected to be shot in Maplesville.

Tonya S. Holly, writer, producer, director and owner of Cypress Moon Productions, will be on-site for an open casting call in Maplesville on April 14 from 1-4 p.m. at the train depot.

“We’re looking for some great character faces,” Holly said. “Not for speaking roles yet. Just bring a picture and contact information.”

The casting call will coincide with the town’s Heritage Day, and anyone from Chilton County or surrounding areas is invited to attend.

Holly said men, women and children ages 10 and up are needed but not required to have prior experience.

People who are unable to attend may mail their information to Cypress Moon Studios at 1000 Alabama Avenue, Sheffield, 35660.

Cypress Moon will also accept applications for crew as well as photographs of antique cars dating from 1934 and older.

A separate session for speaking roles will be announced in the near future.

The film is currently in pre-production and will be shot in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Missouri. Scenes in Maplesville are expected to be filmed in late April or early May.

“The Story of Bonnie and Clyde” is a new adaptation of the classic love story about notorious fugitives.

The film is set in the Great Depression era of the 1930s and follows the lives of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, uncovering many aspects of their lives that have never before appeared on the big screen.
