Elsie Dortheney Mims

Elsie Dortheney Mims, 82, of Verbena died Friday, March 30, 2012, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

She was born on Friday, January 31, 1930, in Chilton County, daughter of the late J. Henry Cleckler and the late Rosie Mims Cleckler.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her two daughters, Dorothy (Courtney) Hooper of Prattville and Lisa (Kenny) Baker of Verbena; son, Bruce (Marian) Mims of Clanton; six grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, one great-great-great grandchild; and daughter-in-law, Jean Mims of Verbena.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glover (Bud) Mims; son, Roy Mims; and grandchild, Dorothy Rena Hooper.

Friends were received from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, April 1 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 2 at Oak Grove Church of God with the Rev. Randall Beagles officiating.

Interment followed in Oak Grove Church of God Cemetery in Clanton.
