Chilton Baptist churches’ annual Spring Prayer Walk in Chilton County schools will be Sunday, April 1.

The Spring Prayer Walk has taken place since 2004, and a Fall Prayer Walk was added recently to provide two prayer walks every year.

Coordinator Bobbie Traywick said about 300 people participate in each prayer walk.

“There is nothing more important that we can do for our students than to pray for them,” Traywick said. “We ask every culture, every church, every individual to please go out and pray for our schools.”

Traywick said participants are also encouraged to pray for the superintendent, Board of Education and the entire staff the school system.

The prayer walk in the spring is held on the first Sunday in April unless Easter is the same day. The one in the fall is always the first Sunday in August.

“No school is left out,” Traywick said. “You can also go at your convenience and walk around the schools and pray.”

On April 1, walkers will go to Clanton Elementary, Clanton Intermediate and Clanton Middle at 7:15 p.m.; Chilton County High after evening services; Isabella High at 7 p.m.; Jemison Elementary at 4 p.m.; Jemison Middle and Jemison High on Sunday afternoon before evening service; Thorsby schools at 2 p.m.; LeCroy Career/Tech Center at 6 p.m.; and Maplesville schools to be announced.

A walk was held at Verbena schools the week of March 17.
