Kickoff return for TD dooms Devils

A kickoff return for a touchdown was the difference as the Central Alabama Red Devils fell to the Alabama Ravens, 20-14, on March 17.

Central Alabama’s Byron Oliver rushed 10 times for 47 yards and a touchdown, and teammate Jeremy Anderson rushed nine times for 36 yards.

The Red Devils’ other score came on a 77-yard touchdown pass from Clayton Payne to Roman McCoy.

The Ravens returned the opening kickoff of the second half for a score, and the Devils couldn’t catch up.

Central Alabama travels on Saturday to play the Huntsville Rockets, the No. 5 team in the nation according to semiprobcs.com.

The Devils return home on March 31 to take on the Alabama Protectors at 6 p.m. at Maplesville High School’s George Walker Jr. Stadium.
