Thorsby pitcher Stephen Mims tossed a no-hitter on Monday, the first day of the Chilton County Baseball Tournament.

Mims allowed Jemison to record no hits through seven innings while striking out 13 batters and walking six in a 5-0 Thorsby win.

Chilton County defeated Isabella, 12-0, in the first game of the day to set up Tuesday’s schedule: CCHS vs. Maplesville at 4:30 p.m., and Thorsby vs. Verbena at 7 p.m.

The tournament is being hosted by Verbena at Clanton’s Jack Hayes Field.

Mims also scored two runs in Thorsby’s win. The Rebels put up two runs in the second inning, another in the third on a Jason Price home run and added insurance runs in the fourth and fifth innings.

Parker Bryan went 3-for-3 at the plate for THS with two runs batted in, a run scored and a stolen base.
