Curtis Leon Kirkland, age 68 of Clanton, passed away on March 8, 2012, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster. He was born in Chilton County on July 25, 1943, the son of the late Leon Kirkland and the late Alma Davenport Kirkland.

Mr. Kirkland was a farmer.

He is survived by: wife, Debbie Kirkland of Clanton, daughter, Jennifer Kirkland of Clanton; granddaughters, Paige Champion and McKayla Evans of Clanton; grandson, Skyler Evans of Clanton; brother, Larry (Cindy) Kirkland of Prattville; sister, Jean (Ralph) Edwards of Clanton; and sister-in-law, Linda Kirkland of Clanton.

He is preceded in death by: father, Leon Kirkland; mother, Alma D. Kirkland; brother, Bobby Wayne Kirkland; and sister, Patricia Ann Mims.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012, after 5 p.m. at Way of the Cross Church of God in Coopers.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 11 from Way of the Cross Church of God with the Rev. Douglas Scott, the Rev. Bobby Franklin and the Rev. John Coburn officiating.

Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.
