Rodney J. Cleckler, age 65, passed away Feb. 9 at his home in Woodland Park, Col.

Son of Kathleen and the late Jeff D. Cleckler, he was born and raised in Thorsby.

Survivors are his mother, two sons, Jay (Heather) Cleckler of Long Beach, Calif., and Jon (Michelle) Cleckler of Colorado Springs, Col., and four grandchildren.

Graduating from Montevallo College, he entered the U.S. Air Force. Ending his military service at the rank of captain, he settled his family in Woodland Park. He was employed by the Mitre Corporation and worked there until forced medical retirement two years ago.

A spirited man with a quick wit who gave generously of himself to all he met.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
