Verbena’s girls basketball team concluded one of the program’s best regular seasons ever with a 37-22 win over Maplesville on Feb. 3.

Lacey Short led the Red Devils (15-5) with 16 points, and teammate Marqueska Deramus scored 14 points on the same night that she was presented a plaque recognizing her track and field state championship.

Lakeyn Edwards added nine points.
