Mrs. Vader Crouse St. John, age 84, of Adamsville died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at her residence.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012. Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 7 at 2 p.m. at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial in New Hope Cemetery on the Sipsey Cutoff Road. David Courington will officiate. Bell Funeral Home Sumiton has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. St. John was preceded in death by her husband, Ben St. John; daughter, Donna Naugher; and grandchildren, Stephanie Brown, Joseph Brown and David Brown. She was a wonderful mother and compassionate grandmother and will be missed by all that knew her.

Survivors include her children, Sue Hatcher of Thorsby, Leona D. Wray of Jasper, Viola M. Brown of Pleasant Grove, Shirley J. Hurley of Graysville, Helen A. Bridges of Adamsville, Jerry R. St. John of Thorsby, Ricky A. St. John of Thorsby, Virgil B. St. John of Bayview and Allen Naugher of Clanton; brother, James Crouse of Drummond Switch community; sister, Lucille Crouse of Tennessee; 20 grandchildren, 36-great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family.
