Chilton County loses another heartbreaker

Chilton County on Friday lost its second heartbreaker in as many weeks.
Last week’s loss to Demopolis ended with a blocked field goal; this week at Brookwood, a 50-yard touchdown pass that would have brought the Tigers to within an extra point of tying the game with less than 2 minutes to play was called back because of a holding penalty.
CCHS (0-3) lost, 22-15.
Chilton quarterback Chance Britnell passed to Austin Rossi for a 1-yard touchdown to begin the scoring, and it would hold up until halftime, when the score was 7-0.
Stephen Horn was good on a 27-yard field goal in the third quarter, and Vadall Morrow returned a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown, but Brookwood put up 15 points in the final quarter to take the lead and Chilton County’s comeback attempt fell short.
Morrow racked up 166 yards on three kick returns.
Michael Seaton accounted for 150 all-purpose yards, 114 yards on 18 rushes and 36 yards on three receptions.
Richard Hilliard paced the defense with 11 tackles.
Rossi had nine tackles and an interception—to go along with what would have been a last-minute TD catch.
Keondre Binion also intercepted a pass.
