Ruth Kate Minor, 69, of Clanton died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at Vaughn Regional Medical Center in Selma.

She was born Monday, Jan. 19, 1942, in Chilton County, daughter of the late James Dewey Minor and the late Mildred Easterling Minor.

Surviving are her aunt, Willodean Johnson of Clanton; and faithful friend, Margie Martin of Clanton.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Easterling Gore; stepfather, Kermit Gore; brother, Johnny Green Gore; brother, Edwin Minor; and father, Dewey J. Minor.

Services were held Friday, Sept. 2 at 11 a.m. at Collins Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Hilyer officiating.

Interment followed in Collins Chapel Cemetery in Thorsby.
