George Travis McAnelly Jr., 86, of Clanton died Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born Friday, Oct. 24, 1924, in Hamilton, Texas, son of the late George Travis McAnelly Sr. and the late Lela Mae Kirchman McAnelly.

He was an antique dealer.

Surviving are his wife, Lynda McAnelly of Clanton; two sons, Terry (Linda) McAnelly of Morrisville, N.C. and David (Candy) McAnelly of Pollockville, N.C.; two daughters, Sandy Medlock of Morrisville, N.C. and Cindy McAnelly of Monroe, N.C.; stepson, John (Lisa) Shearon of Clanton; stepddaughters, Connie Cobern (David Sanders) of Clanton and Chris (Jeff) Brown of Clanton; 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lela Kirchman McAnelly; father, George Travis McAnelly Sr.; four sisters; three brothers; and great-grandson, Cody Sherrin.

Services will be held Monday, July 18 at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Brooks officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.
