Robert Ellis, 84 of Chilton County, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at his residence.

Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor; brothers, Harry Lee Ellis and J.L. Ellis; and sister, Lucille Windham.

He is survived by his son, Ray Ellis of Randolph; daughter, Patty Castro of Pueblo, Colo.; brother, Phillip Ellis of Gaffney, S.C.; five sisters, Elizabeth Phillips and Mary Phillips, both of Gaffney, S.C.; Lois Gibson of Vacaville, Calif.; Georgia Locklear of Charlotte, N.C.; Brenda Thomas of Blacksburg, SC; two grandchildren, Elena Allie and Shelly Jenkins; six great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 5 at 9:15 a.m. from Rockco Funeral Home, Montevallo with Dr. Charles Nicholson officiating. Mr. Ellis will be laid to rest with his wife at Alabama National Cemetery at 10:15 a.m.
