Clanton firefighters work to put a tarp over a Tuscaloosa home earlier this month.

On May 2 and May 6, Clanton fire department members helped tornado victims in Tuscaloosa.

The firefighters cleared a driveway, put a tarp over a home and cut trees to allow people to have their power restored, among other kinds of work.

About a half dozen firefighters worked those two days. One of the people they helped was a Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Deputy, who had been too busy at work to work around his own home, Fire Chief David Driver said.
