District Court Judge Rhonda Hardesty signed a proclamation declaring May 1-7 as Children’s Mental Health Week. She is shown with Deanna Thompson, Chilton-Shelby Mental Health Center’s child and adolescent case manager.

The week focuses on the importance of the combined effort to evaluate every part of adolescent mental, physical and nutritional well-being. Some childhood and adolescent mental health research includes Autism Spectrum Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Major Depressive Disorder and Bi-Polar Disorders.
