Balloons released Thursday outside Jemison Elementary.

Jemison Intermediate and Elementary School students joined together Thursday afternoon and released more than 100 balloons in observance of Relay For Life.

“Most of the students have a connection to this by either a family member or a friend that has been affected by cancer,” said Louise Pitts, principal at Jemison Elementary. “It’s a way to say they are thought about. I thought this would be a good joint effort because the schools are so close together and some of the students have siblings in the other school.”
