Big inning lifts Red Devils to win

Maplesville (17-10) won at Jemison, 7-2, Tuesday night in softball action.
Katie Hayes got the home team up 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning, touching the plate on a run scoring single by Tiffany Guin.
Guin held the MHS batters scoreless until the fifth inning, when four Red Devils crossed the plate. Most of the damage was done on a bases loaded single by Kiana Andrews that scored two.
Each team added a run in the sixth, and in the seventh frame, Morgan Little drove in the final two runs for the Devils.
Courtney Killingsworth was the winning pitcher, scattering four hits and striking out six.
