Three University of Montevallo students from Chilton County have been named to “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.” The publication rewards and recognizes individual academic excellence on a national level.

Among the 44 Montevallo students selected are Brittany E. Bivins and Emili A. Blanton, both of Clanton, and Jessica J. Mitchell of Jemison.

The students were honored at the 2010 UM Elite Night. Candidates were evaluated on scholarship ability, participation and leadership in academic and extracurricular activities, citizenship, service to the school and potential for future achievements. Selections are made each fall by individual schools.

“Who’s Who Among Students” continues to aid campuses in honoring students who demonstrate consistent excellence.
