Roy Edwin Mims, 59, of Verbena died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at his residence in Verbena.

He was born Friday, Jan. 26, 1951, in Chilton County, son of the late Glover Mims and Elsie Cleckler Mims.

He was a journeyman molder with Anderson Electric Plant.

Surviving are his wife, Jean Mims of Verbena; two daughters, Tammy (Kevin) Rhodes and Amy (Brian) Watts, both of Clanton; three grandsons, Keilian Mims, Nick Clark and Dexter Clark of Clanton; two granddaughters, Holly Watts and Hope Watts of Clanton; mother, Elsie Mims of Clanton; brother, Bruce Mims of Clanton; and two sisters, Dorothy Hooper of White City and Lisa Baker of Clanton.

Services were held Monday, Dec. 27 at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Church of God with the Rev. Randall Beagles and the Rev. Kenny Baker officiating.

Interment followed in Oak Grove Church of God Cemetery in Verbena.
