Jemison’s boys team defeated Westminster, 60-44, on Friday in the first round of the Verbena Christmas tournament.

The score was 26-22 Jemison at halftime, but the Panthers (3-5, 1-2) outscored Westminster 25-12 in the third period.

Trey Bryant and Jesse Taylor both scored 12 points for Jemison, and Jalen Hardnett had 10 points.

Bryant also had four assists.

JHS will play the winner of Friday’s B.B. Comer-Victory Christian game at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the second round of the tournament.
