McArthur Holmes, 60, of Thorsby passed away Nov. 9, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lacy and Carlia Holmes Sr.

Survivors are five children, McArthur Holmes Jr. and Renea (Marcus) Gaston of Memphis, Jeremy Holmes, Erika (Carlos) Hough and Merissa Holmes of Birmingham; four grandchildren, Kennedi, Cameron, Alexis and Amiyah; one brother, Lacy Holmes Jr.; one sister, Betty (Carlos) Aldridge; a special friend and caregiver, Marie Jones; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A special thanks to Alacare Home Health and Hospice and to nurses Brenda, Lori and Jennifer.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 20 at noon at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1028 County Road 209, Jemison, with the Rev. Irvin Williams officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 19 from noon until 8 p.m. at Agee Brothers Funeral Home, 907 Samaria Road, Clanton. Burial will be Monday, Nov. 22 at 11:30 a.m. at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
