Tate, Karn earn Miss Chilton crowns

Rebecca Tate is crowned Miss Chilton County by outgoing queen Allison Cobb.

Rebecca Tate was crowned 2010 Miss Chilton County on Saturday night, while Linlee Karn was chosen as Junior Miss Chilton County.

Tate is from Maplesville and is a student at Wallace State Community College. The 19 year old is the daughter of Johnny and Rose Tate.

“It’s unbelievable. I cannot really believe I won,” Tate said after being crowned Miss Chilton County by outgoing queen Allison Cobb.

She said she looks forward to serving and representing the county.

“I expect to meet a lot of great people and make a lot of new friends,” Tate said.

Tate’s court included: Hillary Cleckler, first alternate; Lauren Guy, second alternate and casual wear winner; third alternate, Haley Kelley; fourth alternate Kayla Brasher; and Jordan Davenport, Miss Congeniality.

Karn, the daughter of David and Loulee Karn, was crowned Junior Miss. Karn also took home two other honors Saturday: she was named Miss Congeniality and won the evening’s casual wear competition. She is a student at Chilton County High School.

Karn’s court included: Krista Henderson, first alternate; Resha Grace, second alternate; Leigh Anna Shavers, third alternate; and Mattie Cleckler, fourth alternate.

On Friday, Chloe Olivia Haggard was named Little Miss Chilton County and Madalyn Barrington was crowned Young Miss Chilton County.
