Ellen Ruth Scott, 71, of Clanton died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

She was born Friday, April 21, 1939, in Chilton County, daughter of the late Hubert Mims and the late Cleedie Grimes Mims.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are son, Mr. Tim (Debbie) Scott of Thorsby; daughter, Ms. Yvonne Heptinstall of Thorsby; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Janice (Larry) Robinson of Clanton and Mrs. Sandy (Daniel) Gore of Clanton; three brothers, Mr. Tony Grimes of Clanton, Mr. William Junior Mims of Clanton and Mr. Ronnie Mims of Clanton, AL.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Mr. Jim Scott; and grandson, Mr. Chancse Jones.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 5 at Martin Chapel.

Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. at Martin Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Carroll officiating.

Interment will follow in Refuge Baptist Cemetery in Clanton.
