Fannie R. Pate

Fannie R. Pate, 81, of Randolph died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

She was born Wednesday, March 20, 1929, in Alabama, daughter of the late Calvin Monroe Smith and the late Lillie Posey Smith.

She was a school bus driver at Jemison from 1966 to 1981.

Surviving are two daughters, Sue (Dewayne) Thornhill of Randolph and Nancy (Lonnie) Gothard of Randolph; five sons, Bobby (Sue) Pate of Leeds, Carey G. (Angie) Pate of Cornelia, Ga., Coy J.  Pate of Randolph, Ted (Tracie) Pate of Calera and David (Melinda) Pate of Randolph; 21 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Francis Middleton of Fayetteville, N.C. and Elder Mae Foshee of Clanton; and brother, Curtis Oneal Smith of Randolph.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 21 at Mars Hill Baptist Church.

Services will be held Friday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. at Mars Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenny Hatcher officiating.

Interment will follow in Mars Hill Baptist Cemetery in Jemison.
