Joe Earl Dennis, 68, of Jemison died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010.

He was born Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1942, in Chilton County, son of the late Jack Dennis and the late Marylene Peters Dennis.

He was a mechanic.

Surviving are his wife, Ann of Jemison; son, Mark Dennis of Jemison; two step-daughters, Janet Barfield of Pensacola, Fla., Therese Morris of Trussville; daughter, Pam Rigsby of Clanton; 18 grandchildren, four great grandchildren; two brothers, Levis Peters of Jemison and Ray Dennis of Jemison; and four sisters, Lois Martin of Clanton, Ruby Edwards of Jemison, Terri Dotson of Clanton and Jerri Parriett of Clanton.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia K. Dennis; brother, Travis Dennis; and brother, Dale Dennis.

Services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ken Brand and the Rev. Carl Brown officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Clanton.
