Loose ball: Isabella’s Blake Edwards tries to fall on a loose ball Friday during a 14-10 loss at Vincent.

Isabella was driving with a chance to win Friday’s game at Vincent, but an interception ended any chances of a comeback as the hosts won, 14-10.

Vincent (5-2, 5-0 region) scored first, after an Isabella turnover, on a 2-yard run by senior Ben McKinney.

The Mustangs (3-4, 1-4) answered by driving inside Vincent’s 10-yard line, but the drive stalled and the visitors settled for a 24-yard field goal by senior Ricky Burt to cut the lead to 6-3, which would be the score at halftime.

Isabella senior Brandon Green broke free for a 76-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter to give his team the lead, 10-6 after Burt’s point-after.

But Vincent drove 73 yards on its ensuing possession, and sophomore Damauntey Johnson scored the game-winner, a 1-yard run. Vincent then added a 2-point conversion.
