Dorothy Jean Farris Porter, 77, of Clanton died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

She was born Sunday, Oct. 30, 1932, in Chilton County, daughter of the late Virgil Stanley Farris and the late Estella Little Farris.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband, John E. (Junior) Porter of Clanton; three sons, Johnny Porter of Clanton, Stanley (Sheila) Porter of Jemison and Greg (Stephanie) Porter of Clanton; two daughters, Karen Porter (Larry) Reeser of Clanton and Sharon Porter (Gary) Spearman of Thorsby; 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; two brothers, Edward (Euna) Farris of Clanton and Raymond Farris of Thorsby; and sister, Mackie Hill of Clanton.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Carolyn Davenport.

Services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. at Robinson Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. David Farris and the Rev. Harold Farris officiating.

Interment will follow in Robinson Springs Cemetery in Clanton.
