Jimmie Lanier ran for 141 yards, three touchdowns and a 2-point conversion on Friday as Billingsley defeated region foe Isabella, 22-12.

Isabella’s Austin Haigler passed to J.D. Lenoir for the game’s first score, but Billingsley (1-1, 1-0 Class 2A, Region 4) answered later in the first quarter with a 3-yard Lanier run. Lanier also ran in the 2-point conversion.

Lanier accounted for eight more points in the third quarter, and his third score made it 22-6.

Isabella (1-1, 0-1) scored with 46 seconds left in the game on a 15-yard pass from Haigler to Blake Edwards.

A.J. Tyus recorded nine tackles for Billingsley to go along with a sack and a fumble recovery.
