Marie Scott Roop, 74, of Randolph, passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center.
Mrs. Roop was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Hazel Scott; brothers, Floyd Lee and Buddy Scott; son, John Sherman “Buddy” Roop Jr.; and grandson, Heath Fulgham.  She is survived by daughters, Wanda Karen Morrow (Wayne) of Walters, Okla.; Pamela D. Fulgham (Bart) and Candace Elaine Lazar (Steve) all of Randolph;  sons, Scotty D. Roop (Kandie) of Jemison and Donald Ray Roop (April) of Pell City; sisters, Barbara Carlee (Alton) of Lawley; Kathy Yeager (Arthur) and Sherry Hamrick (Steve), all of Centreville; brothers, James Edward Scott (Ellen) and Jerry Scott (Patricia) of Jemison and Joe Ernest Scott (Teresa) of San Antonio, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation was at Randolph Baptist Church, Randolph, from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19. Funeral services were held at Randolph Baptist Church, Friday, Aug. 20 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Wayne Morrow and the Rev. William Kee officiating.
Mrs. Roop lay in state at the church one hour prior to the service.  She was buried in the church cemetery next to her parents.  Pallbearers included Chris Scott, Chris Melton, Michael Henderson, Nicky Fulgham, Rusty Fulgham, Devon Roop and Brandon Fulgham.
