Ricky Wilson of Verbena and Sharon Wilson of Prattville are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kristina Michelle Wilson, to Jason Alan Melendy, son of Kenneth Melendy of Thorsby and Lisa Melendy of Clanton.

Wilson is the granddaughter of Clyde and Pat Wilson of Louisiana and the late Donald and Catherine O’Bryan of Billingsley. She is a graduate of Verbena School and is going to continue her education at the University of Montevallo in the spring, pursuing a degree in dietetics.

Melendy is the grandson of Ernest and Cynthia Melendy of Maine and Turpin Ashurst and Patti Richardson of Montgomery. He is a graduate of Thorsby School and is currently employed with the United States Army as a military police, and at Hyundai of Montgomery.

The wedding will be held at 2 p.m. on Aug. 28 at Clearview Missionary Baptist Church.
