Clanton’s O-Zone (11- and 12-year-olds) team got off to a 2-0 start in the Dixie Youth state tournament over the weekend, defeating Cherokee (Center) American, 17-1, and Taylorville (Tuscaloosa) American, 3-1.

Colby Ramsey and Corbin Bice each have three hits in the tournament, and Baley Sellers and Bice each have three RBI.

Hunter Bennett and Boyd Price have led the defensive effort, and Dalton Green, Tolliver Gilliland and Sellers have allowed only three hits combined from the mound while striking out seven.
