Chilton County High School student Justin Bavar placed second in the state FFA Safe Tractor Driving Contest held at Auburn High School on June 1.

The competition was sponsored by Thompson Cat Tractor Company. Locally, SunSouth provides the school’s Agriscience Department with tractors during the county competition.

Bavar won the county competition to advance to the state level, where he competed among 12 students from across Alabama.

The competition took place during the 81st Annual Alabama State Convention.
