Chilton County residents have until July 2 to register to vote in the July 13 runoff election.

Those casting absentee ballots must make an application by July 8. Chilton County Board of Registrars chairperson Donna Wyatt said eligible potential voters can visit the circuit clerk’s office to make the application and vote at the same time.

Non-absentee voters can find registration applications at the registrar’s office in the Chilton County courthouse between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Wyatt also said various candidates are distributing applications throughout the community.

All applications must be turned in at the registrar’s office, located in the basement of the courthouse.

Wyatt said a couple of hundred of people have registered since the initial primary vote, though most of the traffic is a result of residents changing addresses.

The runoff election will take place on July 13.
