About 275 football players spent Tuesday at Chilton County High School preparing for the upcoming season.

And the Central Alabama Football Camp made their participation worthwhile. The camp this year included several different types of skill tests to complement the 7-on-7 passing games and lineman challenge it has featured in the past.

Jemison’s Javae Swindle won the skill obstacle competition, finishing the course in 10.29 seconds.

Maplesville’s Dustin Stevens was the best wide receiver in the 1-on-1 competition, where one receiver and one defensive back would match up for a series of plays inside the 10-yard line, with the receiver trying to score on each play.

Isabella’s Austin Haigler won the quarterback challenge, where passers aimed for a series of stationary and moving targets to test their accuracy.

Maplesville’s Dylan Wallace won the two lineman events, the obstacle course and the one-man sled.

Chilton County’s Chase Brown won a strength competition, where players bench pressed 185 pounds as many times as possible. Brown put the weight up 26 times.

Maplesville’s Cameron Morrow ran the 40-yard dash in the fastest time, 4.41 seconds.

No scores were kept during the 7-on-7 games.
