Thomas Anderson Johnson, age 87, of Maplesville passed away June 27, 2010.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30 at Sardis Church in Heighberger with burial following in the Sardis Church Cemetery. The Rev. Tony Reynolds will be officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home will be directing. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 29 from 5-8 p.m. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.
Mr. Johnson was a minister for more than 40 years in parts of Alabama and Mississippi. He was married to Lessie Johnson, of Maplesville for 60 years.
They had three sons, Ronney Johnson (Sue) of Douglas, Ga., Glendon Johnson (Rose) of Northport and Donald Wayne Johnson of Maplesville; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Susie Johnson; two brothers, Pickin Johnson and Andrew Johnson; and a sister, Lavinnie Riley.
He is survived by his sisters, Cluster Gill of Uniontown and Gladys Moore of Brent.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Johnathan G. Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Michael Johnson, Adam Q. Johnson, Keith L. Johnson and Preston Johnson. Honorary pallbearer will be Thomas Clark Johnson.
