Several Alabama politicians will ride in cars during the Chilton County Peach Parade Saturday morning.

Clanton Police Department officer David Hicks said Bradley Byrne, Luther Strange, Kay Ivey, Scott Gilliland and Cam Ward are among those who will participate.

Local candidates for office will also be on hand. Republican education superintendent candidates Tommy Glasscock and David Hayden will appear as well as candidates for sheriff Kevin Davis, John Shearon and Terry Wilson.

Hicks said anyone who wants to enter the parade must do so by 5-6 p.m. on Thursday at the CPD. There is no cost to enter. Hicks, who is organizing the event, wants to get a count of how many people and vehicles will participate and what type of vehicles they will use.

Applications are available at the CPD, C&C Trophy, the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce, the main branch of Peoples Southern Bank, The Clanton Advertiser and the city halls of Clanton, Jemison and Thorsby.
