June 9-11: Thompson Chapel Church will host Vacation Bible School on June 6 at 6 p.m. and June 7-11 at 7 p.m. Ages are nursery through adult. This year’s theme is Hero Headquarters. Call 688-2126 for more information.

June 12: County-wide rabies clinics will be held at Garrison Farm & Home Center from 12:30-1:45 p.m., at Isabella High School from 2-2:45 p.m., at Maplesville High School from 3-3:45 p.m., at Chilton County High School from 4:15-5 p.m. and at Verbena Annex from 5:15-5:45 p.m. All dogs and cats over 12 weeks old are to be vaccinated as required by state law. June 13: The Browning family will be in concert at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church at 11 a.m.

June 13-16: Center Hill Baptist Church will host Vacation Bible School from 6:30-8:30 p.m. each night. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. for families. Classes are available from babies through sixth grade as well as adults. This year’s theme is Saddle Ridge Ranch.

June 19: Petals from the Past in Jemison has rescheduled its annual “Black and Blue” Berry Festival. There are U-Pick or we-pick blackberries and blueberries. Delicious berry desserts will be available for sampling in the educational building. Dr. Arlie Powell will lead discussions on growing berries in the home garden, and there will be activities for the kids, as well as music and food. Admission is free. June 23: A Social Security representative will be on hand at the Chilton County DHR from 9:30-11:30 a.m. You may change your address, direct deposit or telephone number; get proof of your benefit amount; get a Social Security card application or replace your Medicare card. June 25: The sixth annual Peach Jam Jubilee will be held in downtown Clanton at 5 p.m. There will be two stages, the Corner Park Stage and Main Stage. On the Corner Park Stage will be Adreanne Barrington, Jerry Russell and CCHS “Blast from the Past.” On the Main Stage will be a 4-H Center Birds of Prey demonstration and headline act, The Tip Tops, a 10-piece dance and show band that combine music from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s. June 27: Center Hill Baptist Church in Jemison will celebrate its 150th anniversary beginning at 10 a.m. The event will feature special singers, speakers and the recognition of former pastors and deacons.

Free GED classes: The Wallace Community College-Selma Adult Education Program is hosting free GED classes at Helen Jenkins Chapel in Thorsby and at the Maplesville Depot Tuesday and Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Classes are also held in Clanton, at 1114 Fifth Ave. N.
