Sarah Nell Bates Mims, 84, of Clanton died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at Chilton Medical Center, Clanton.

She was born on Monday, February 22, 1926, in Chilton County, daughter of the late Tom Bates and the late Laura Mims Bates.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her two daughters, Marlene (Gary) Minor of Clanton and Jane (Donny) Easterling of Clanton; two sons, Gary Mims of Clanton and Paul Mims of Clanton; two grandchildren, Kevin (Melissa) Easterling of Clanton and Laura Easterling of Clanton; and a great grandchild, Keegan Oaks of Clanton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R. Howard Mims.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 26, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 27, at Concord Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. Doug Powell officiating.
