Ernest Junior  Davenport, 69,  of Clanton died Sunday, May 9, 2010, at his residence.
He was born on  Wednesday, August 21, 1940, in Chilton County, son of the late Ernest Davenport and the late Essie Faye Shaw Davenport.
He was a maintenance planner.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Tommie  Sue Davenport of Clanton;  two sons, Mr. Ryan (Rita) Davenport of Clanton and Mr. Kevin Davenport of Clanton; two daughters, Mrs. Karen (Jerry) Smitherman of Clanton and Mrs. Chanda (Jeremy) Griffin of Jemison; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren;  two sisters, Mrs. Minnie May Childress of Thorsby and Mrs. Mary Ann Rawlings of Spanish Fort; and brother, Mr. Charlie Davenport of Clanton.
Friends were received from  5-8 p.m., Monday, May 10 at Martin Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, at Mt. Carmel Baptist No. 1 with the Rev. Darrell Jones and the Rev. Bert Tippett officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Baptist No. 1 Cemetery in Thorsby.
