Horace N. Askew, age 71, of Jemison passed away Wednesday May 5, 2010, at Shelby Baptist Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Friday May 7, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church No. 1 with the Rev. Lynn Roe, the Rev. J. Aaron Ellison and the Rev. Allen Foster officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Askew is survived by his companion, Kimberly Askew of Jemison; his daughters, Kathy Pennington of Maplesville and Keela (Tim) Mims of Maplesville; his sons, David (Debbie) Askew of Clanton and Joey (Rena’) Ratliff of Birmingham; his sisters, Hazel Northcutt of Jemison and Lois Askew of Jemison; a brother, Tommy Askew of Georgia; and five grandchildren.

The family requests no flowers or food. Please make donations to Providence Baptist Church No. 1 and the Chilton County Humane Society.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. at the church.
