There will be a Chilton County Relay for Life team captain meeting on Thursday at noon at the youth league football field at Clanton City Park. The captains will gather to choose their campsites.

The meeting is also the last chance for team captains to discuss the Relay for Life event beginning April 30 at 6 p.m.

Kristen Franklin, of the Chilton County chapter of the American Cancer Society, said captains would iron out any last minute details that might concern them.

Chilton County Relay for Life president Ann Glasscock said captains would also turn in any money due for the event.

“I feel very good about this year’s Relay,” Glasscock said. “It seems as if many teams have already exceeded their goals. I think this is a good sign that things are picking up.”

The meeting will let captains pick their campsite, among other things.
