Hilman Edsel Mims, 84, of Clanton died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton.

He was born Wednesday, April 1, 1925, in Chilton County, son of the late Virgil Morris Mims and the late Lottie Roberta Easterling Mims.

He was a rural letter carrier.

Surviving are his two sons, Mr. Roger Mims of Clanton and Mr. Keith Mims of Clanton; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Miriam W. Mims.

Friends will be received one hour prior to service on Friday, March 12, 2010, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Services will be held Friday, March 12, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Powell officiating.

Interment will follow in Concord Baptist Cemetery in Clanton.
