Chilton County might wait a little longer for any spring snow this year.

National Weather Service meteorologist John Sirmon said Monday that Chilton County wouldn’t see much or any snow accumulation today. The area will instead see a cold rain with temperatures reaching highs of 40.

Sirmon, a Chilton County resident, said parts of Central Alabama would be too warm for any snow and that Northeast Alabama has a decent chance at two inches.

He said temperatures will warm up to nearly 70 degrees this Sunday and the following Monday.

ABC 33/40 meteorologist J.B. Elliot reported on the station’s Web site that the best chance of snow for Alabama would be parts of Northeast Alabama, especially in the higher terrain, which could even see nearly 3 inches.

He said Birmingham could get about one inch.
